Women Of Faith

WOW! What an amazing show! If anyone has considered going but hesitated, unsure if they would like it... my advice is, just go.

There is something for everyone. We attended the pre-show Friday morning and heard Sheila Walsh and Henry Cloud (I know a MAN). They were very inspirational and still have me thinking about some of the things said, now two weeks later.

Friday night and Saturday were packed with more speakers, Shiela Walsh again, Patsy Clairmont, Lucy Swindol, Marilyn Meberg and Thema Wells. Singing with Sandy Patty including a duet with her husband and Nicole Nordman. Drama with Allison Allen and a comedian... not just any comedian but a hilarious one. Anita Renfroe.

This was the first time I had seen Anita Renfroe, I couldn't believe she was a pastor's wife, she was way too cool and made us all laugh until we hurt.

All in all it was an EMOTIONAL week-end. It had it all laughing and crying, joking and thoughtfulness. I am still reeling.

I am not planning on going next year in anticipation of referral in the summer... but who knows! I wasn't planning on going this year either...

I am preparing for a week-end in Indiana to attend a Women of Faith Conference. I have been to a few before when they were here in Michigan, but for the past few years they haven't chosen to perform here. So my mom and her friends chose to attend the conference in Ft. Wayne and the rest is history...

This amazing group of women share a 'show' that is second to none. For two days we will be worshiping the Lord in a very unusual way. There are inspirational speakers, singers, comics and drama; all shared by and performed for women.

I remember wandering around the "Palace", years back at my first conference, and literally not seeing one male! They even covered the names on the Men's rooms and allowed us to use any 'ol bathroom we wanted! (I still stuck with the Women's - I don't even know why!)

This week-end, I will laugh until my side aches, I will cry despite my will not to, I will sing loudly, with abandon, I will worship with my whole heart. I will build a closer bond with Christ and fall deeper into my faith. I will know I am loved.

I will never forget what it was like to hear 10,000 women singing, my all time favorite hymn, Amazing Grace, a cappella. It could have been heaven's angels.

So, if you have heard of it, and wondered if it would be something you might want to attend... I would highly recommend it.
