About a month ago Jim told me that Michael W. Smith and Third Day were going to be coming to DTE and would I like to go? Well he knew my answer before he asked it. I have my CD changer loaded up in my car with both of their CD's at all times. The only thing that would have made it better if Amy Grant were there too! I know...nerd!
For whatever reason we missed them last summer, so I was VERY excited about this year, especially because we could take Chris, sit on the hill, and let him experience his first concert right where I experienced my first concert! Only back then I was 18, it was the Moody Blues and the atmostphere really wasn't what I would like my pre-teen to experience!
To save on ticket fees I ran up to the Meadow Brook ticket office to buy our Lawn tickets which were only $15 each! Exactly the same price as my Moody Blues tickets some 20 years ago!
Then it started to rain... and it looks like it will rain all week! So we decided to go to DTE early, upgrade our tickets to pavillion, go out for dinner and then go back to the concert. Which is exactly how it went... I don't even want to add up how much more we spent on tickets and dinner let alone our concert tee's, but we stayed warm and dry and the concert was AMAZING!!
