So much emotion going into this day. Swelling with pride at what an amazing young man Chris has become. Sadness over his leaving behind his little boy days and a school we have grown to love. Chris' one wish was to have his little sister home by his graduation day. He got his wish and having Kate with us that day allowed my tears to be that of joy and pride.
The day was not without a few surprises! Chris worked hard all year to maintain his all A average knowing if he did he would be rewarded with 'All A Honor Roll', but he was surprised with an Academic Presidential Award for his grades and test scores.
His friend Doug was also surprised with the Duncan award. There is only one person from each class chosen each year for this high honor. Doug was chosen by his classmates and teacher as the one in his class that best represents the school's high standards by truly leading by example! Needless to say these boys had a very exciting day!
I tear up just thinking about what these boys will accomplish one day, and I am so very blessed to be able to watch it all unfold.
After the ceremony we took Chris, Kate and my mom out for lunch. Chris chose Red Lobster! Chris had shrimp, Kate... well she got a formula!
