There are many blessings to having a big lovable Golden Retriever like Scout, but having a dog can present a problem when you want to travel. Over the years we tried a few kennels in our area and were happy to have a place to keep Scout safe while we traveled.
A few summers ago, the kennels we normally used were full, so I looked on line and found The Dog Ranch, in Bruce Michigan. (near Romeo) We would never choose another kennel ever again. Scout wasn't just safe there he had a ball!
That first visit we were impressed with how friendly the staff was, how beautiful and clean the facility was and how the reasonable daily rate also included play time. They said,
"We don't charge extra to play with your dog, all the dogs get playtime."
We have been seasonal regulars at The Dog Ranch for a few years now and when we ask if there is room for Scout, they always say, "Scout! I know Scout, he is such a great dog!" (maybe they say this to everyone, but every time I hear it, I believe them!)
So while our family was away this last week Scout got to go on vacation too. He got lots of time to play with his friends and swim in their new dog pond! They even took these pics for me!
What a gem we have found in this family owned kennel and when we finally get to China we will have the comfort of knowing that Scout will be in a place he loves with people who love him.
