Warning - Totally Braggin'

We attended our first parent teacher conference for Chris last night getting a chance to meet with 5 of his teachers. It seems as though Chris is adjusting just fine to his new school! He ended the card marking with five A's, three A-'s and one B+ and although he was upset about his first B since 4th grade, his overall average was a 3.87 putting him in the High Honor Roll!

To reward him I took him for a Mother/Son date last Saturday. I let him choose where he wanted to go for lunch, he chose Pizza Hut, no big surprise! Then we went to Kohl's to shop for a new outfit, one he would NOT be allowed to wear to school. I wanted him to have something to wear to Youth Group or when we go out that he could express himself. They had such a great sale going on, he ended up with 2 pair of jeans and a long sleeve Guitar Hero tee. (Only $30 total!)

So we hit the mall and found what he's been wanting for a long time... a studded belt! At Hot Topic he got the belt and a matching studded cuff, but I drew the line on the skull ring and studded collar (????). Then we wandered around to H&M and found a cool knit skateboard hat and at Penney's he got a cool graphic hoodie with guitar's and snakes on it!

He will be 13 in just over a month, he is adjusting amazingly well when everything in our lives has changed, new sister, new school and new church. It really was our first outing alone in the last 6 months, we needed the time to connect without any distractions. I had a great time and Chris learned that his mom does know a thing or two about how a teen should dress to look cool!

Chris, I have so much to be thankful for, you are growing into such a fine young man. I am simply blessed to have had you all to myself for 12 and a half years....

I'll post a picture later....
